Nathaniel's Story

WAYNE - Nathaniel Crosby passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, November 17, 2014, in his home in Wayne. He was 65 years old.

Nathaniel was a teacher for many years, first in Aroostook County and later in Chelsea. He also served in the National Guard for 20 years. He was a passionate out-doors man, enjoying camping, fishing and hunting though all too often the wildlife managed to evade him. He also had a passion for English-setter bird dogs, antiques, ancestry, and Civil War history.

He was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Elaine, and 8 children: Nat, Marita, Derrick, Kyle, Nyssa, Desmond, Brianna and Jordanna. He also has 7 grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law, Fred Correll, 1 niece and 2 grandnieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Friday, November 21st from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 22nd at noon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Route 133, Winthrop, with Rev. Jack Dolbec, Celebrant. Burial and committal services with full military honors will be Monday November 24th at 10:00am in the chapel of the New Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
