Nancy's Story

NAPLES, FLA. AND BREWER - Nancy Erickson, 86, passed away peacefully December 11, 2015, at her home with her loved ones at her side. Nancy was born March 19, 1929, in Bangor, to Frederick and Hazel Huggard and grew up in the Christmas House, which is now Chamberlain Park.

She attended Brewer High and Boston School of Fashion and Design. Nancy married Frank G. Erickson in 1952 and had two children, Scott and Kim. Nancy and Frank built and operated the Brewer Motor Inn, where her favorite position was bartending. She loved the patrons and was known to pour one heck of a drink! She enjoyed decorating her homes in Maine and Florida and enjoyed telling others how to decorate theirs', whether they asked or not. Nobody needed to ask for her opinion, she gave it without any filter. Nancy loved animals, reading and playing bridge.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her beloved son, Scott; her sister, Sally; her parents; and special Aunt Phyllis McKinnon. Surviving are her daughter, Kim Erickson of Eddington, "adopted daughters," Cindy Cosmos of Portland and Paula Thomas of Brewer; niece, Ahna Marshall of NY; cousin, Joyce Swartz of Brewer; longtime best pal and cohort, Dianne Young and family of Hall Quarry, Mt. Desert.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held in Naples. Florida.
