AUGUSTA - Nancy G. Cormier, age 83, of the Leighton Road, died on March 17, 2015, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch Drive after a brief illness. She was born in Millinocket, on Aug. 26, 1931, the daughter of Alonzo Wall and Cecilia M. (Boutaugh) Wall.
Mrs. Cormier was a 1949 graduate of Cony High School of Augusta. Prior to her retirement, and after raising a family of six children, she was employed as a cook by the Augusta Civic Center for 20 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl E. Cormier, Sr.; a daughter, Carla (Cormier) Gagnon; a sister, Agnes Russell, and a brother, William Alonzo Wall. Surviving are two daughters, Cecelia (Cormier) Ryan and her companion, Jerry Corey of Augusta, and Bridgit (Cormier) Kirouac and her husband, David of Hobe Sound, Fla.; three sons, Carl E. Cormier, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Milledgeville, Ga., Shannon Cormier and his wife, Brenda of Sidney, and Marc Cormier and his companion, Annette Andrews of Farmingdale; one sister, Judy Souder of Winterport; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visiting hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
