Nadean's Story

BROWNVILLE - Nadean Edwina Whitten, 81, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2015, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, with her family by her side. She was born October 14, 1933, in Patten, the daughter of Arthur and Beulah (Downing) Willard.

A graduate of Brownville Jct. High School, Nadean was a stay-at-home mom until 1970 when she went to work at Merrill Trust Bank in Bangor. Nadean loved her family very much and also had a deep love for her animals. She was so proud of her horse, Dusty, who had won many trophies and ribbons; her German Shepherds, Duke, Dandy, and Sean; and her Siamese cats, Sing Sing, Ming Lee, and Tara Lee.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lamson and her husband, Robert, of Hartland; a grandson, Jared Thompson of Bucksport, who was the love of her life; and a "special" son, Darwin Thompson of Jasper, FL. She will be remembered by a very dear friend, Helen Henderson. Nadean was predeceased by her husband, Elmer; her parents; and a sister, Joanne Brigham.

Friends are invited to call 5-8pm Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Funeral services will be conducted 11am Thursday, August 13, at the Brownville Jct. United Methodist Church, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Jct. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, or Breast Cancer, or the Bangor Humane Society. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
