ARGYLE AND ALABASTER - Myra F. Carey, 95, died May 15, 2015 at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb 20, 1920 in Thopsham, a daughter of William and Mabel (Carey) Walsh.
Myra will be remembered as the sweet soul of the family. She was employed at area shoe shops, and attended night school while raising four young children following her husband Harold's death in 1958. She became a bookkeeper and worked at WT Grant's and Cutler's retiring after many years of service.
She found enjoyment in knitting and sewing and following the Red Sox and Patriots. Above all else, she adored her family and love to follow her grandchildren's activities.
She is survived by three children Alice Weed of Medway, Ann Amero and her husband Greg of Argyle Twp, and David Carey of Howland; four grandchildren Duane Slavin of Newtown, CT, Jo-Ann Morrow and husband Ricky of Waltham, Lisa Harris and husband Steve of Argyle, and Adrien Amero and wife Denise of Alabaster, AL; great grandchildren Jessie Sawyer of Apache Junction, AZ, Jennifer Leathers of Trenton, Cassie and Brady Harris of Argyle, Laney and Marley of Alabaster, AL; and 3 great great grandchildren, a brother George Walsh and his wife Diantha of Jay.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, a daughter Myrna Salerno, infant daughter Maybelle and great granddaughter Avery Frances; three bothers and a sister.
A graveside service will be conducted 2PM Sunday at Cedarvale Cemetery, Argyle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association by visiting
