LAGRANGE - Myla Irene Dyer Treadwell, 98, passed away February 7, 1915, in Skowhegan. She was born May 30, 1916, in LaGrange, one of six children of Marcell N. and Lotta E. (Lancaster) Dyer. She was a 1933 graduate of LaGrange High School and married Algie A. Treadwell on September 16, 1933. They made their home in LaGrange except for a few years in in Connecticut in the mid-1950s.
In addition to her parents, Myla was predeceased by her husband of 40 years in 1973; her sisters, Doris, Aileen and Mildred; a brother, Hollis; her daughter, Barbara Morneault in 2007; her son, Ralph Treadwell in 2011; her granddaughter, Julie Russell in 2013; her grandson, Scott Makela in 1983; and an infant great-grandson, Aaron Lockheart in 1976.
Myla is survived by a brother, Marcel N. Dyer of LaGrange; two daughters, Jean Makela and husband, Arnie, of Green Valley, AZ, Charlene Cox and husband, Rufus, of New Sharon; two sons, Hollis Treadwell and wife, Rebecca, of Brownville, and Randall Treadwell and wife, Debra, of Virginia Beach, VA; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Myla's family wishes to thank the Hospice Care workers and the Woodlawn Rehab and Nursing Center for their loving care of their mother.
Burial in the family lot in Hillcrest Cemetery, LaGrange, and a celebration of her life will be at the convenience of the family in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 170 US Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth 04105, in memory of Algie Treadwell or to the March of Dimes, Maine Chapter, 136 US Rout 1, Scarborough 04074, which she had supported since the death of her great-grandson.
