Mona's Story

HERMON - Mona McGinley Small passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, March 22, 2014. Mona was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Brewer, the daughter of George and Melora (Haynes) McGinley. She was married to the late Russell Small.

Mona was secretary at Hermon High School for 20 years before her retirement. She enjoyed reading, watching the Red Sox, and playing bingo.

Mona is survived by her sons and their wives, Clifton and Debbie, David and Andrea, and Richard and Lee Anne, all of Florida. She is also survived by her brothers, George Arthur of New York, and Douglas of Hermon; and her sisters, Gloria Pickard, and Patricia Goodspeed of Hermon. She leaves six grandchildren, Kathy, Michelle, David Jr., Tracie, Libbyanne, and Heather; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor, Jared, Nathan, Colby, Brooke, Benjamin, Callie, and Melora; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her sister, Judith Estes.

A memorial service will be held in the summer.
