Millinocket and Etna - Minerva E. Proctor, age 88, died peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2017, at Katahdin Health Care. She was born March 27, 1929, in Millinocket, the daughter of John and Ethel (Clark) Proctor. She was devoted to her lifelong friend and companion, Judy Gore, who loves her very much and to her large family, especially her niece, Sharon (Gantnier) Darling who she always treated like a beloved daughter.
She took pride in her jobs over the years at B&M Beans, Grants, and Kmart. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Hampden. Until she got sick, she was a very devout member of the Catholic Church at St. Matthew/St. Gabrielle in Hampden/Winterport. She will be sadly missed by Judy, Sharon, and her family. Minerva is survived by her brothers Richard Proctor and wife, Kathy, of Orrington, and James Proctor of FL, sisters-in-law, Valerie Proctor of VA and Carolyn Gray of Orrington, brothers-in-law, Louis Gantnier of NC and Lyle Gray of Millinocket, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Wilma White, Patrica Gray and Joan Gantnier and brothers, John, Jr., Herbert, and Wesley.
