PALMYRA - Miles Carmichael, Sr., 64, died August 2, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 5, 1952, in Hartland, a son of Harold and Glenna (Richardson) Carmichael.
He graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1971 and served in the U. S. Army.
He was a long haul trucker for many years. Miles loved to hunt, fish, play the guitar and harmonica, and sing. He was a member of the Penobscot Long Rifles and loved to ride his motorcycle.
He is survived by 2 sons, Miles, Jr. and wife, April, and Christopher Skinner, all of St. Albans; 4 brothers, Lewis and wife, Helen of Palmyra, Ira and wife, Debbie, and Gary, all of St. Albans, Edwin of Elberta, Alabama; 4 sisters, Ora Larrabee of Dover-Foxcroft, Bethel and husband, Robert Kirk of Madison, Indiana, Brenda Bailey and Teresa Carmichael, both of St. Albans; 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his significant other, Rita Casey of Palmyra.
Miles was predeceased by his daughter, Deanna Carmichael; and 3 brothers, Walter, Everett and Joseph.
A celebration of life will be held starting at noon, Saturday, August 13th, at the home of Lewis and Helen, 159 Weeks Road, Palmyra.
Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
