HERMON - Mildred Evetts Cullins, affectionately known as Midge to her friends, passed away unexpectedly on December 17th with her family by her side. She was born August 18th, 1926, in Stonefort, Illinois, to Raymond and Mary Evetts. Near the end of WWII, she met and married Lawrence S. Cullins who was in the Army, stationed in Wisconson, near the hospital where Midge was working. Midge and Lawrence eventually settled on the Siberia Road in Stacyville, where they raised three children, Larry, Randy, and Candy. She was predeceased by her parents, nine brothers and sisters and her beloved husband of 50 years. She is survived by her three children, Larry and wife Myong of Stacyville, Randy and wife Beverly of Sherman, and Candy and husband Bill Mehrhoff of Hermon, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a very special nephew, Billy Robinson, of Stacyville. When thinking of Mom, Midge, or Gram, remember her: Making her special freezer jam and banana pudding AND Asking,"Please pass the salt." The family would like to thank the staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center and a very special care provider, Jackie Taylor, who helped in so many ways to make Midge's days start out on a positive note. At Midge's request, there will be no formal funeral service. A graveside service will be conducted in the spring.
