NEWPORT AND CORINNA - Mildred Kathleen Buckland, 87, died Sunday morning, January 31, 2016, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born May 20, 1928 in St. Albans, a daughter of Leland and Sadie (Bubar) Randall.
Millie attended Corinna Union Academy and married John H. Buckland October 14, 1945. She was employed at Snowflake Canning Company in Corinna until it was destroyed by fire. She retired as a teller at the Dexter Regional Credit Union. She was a member of the North Newport Christian Church and attended the Corinna United Methodist Church.
Millie is survived by 3 sons, Bruce and wife Susan of Damariscotta, Victor and wife Cecile of Newport, and Valmore and wife Sandra of Hurricane, WV; 2 sisters, Doris Wintle of Dexter, and Glenice Willette and husband Richard of Corinna; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her husband John and a great grandchild Elisha Chapman.
Friends may call from 1 P. M. Thursday, February 4th, until the time of the funeral at 3 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Terence McKinley officiating. Spring burial will be in the North Newport Cemetery.
