PALMYRA - Mildred G. Bragg died Feb. 5, 2015, at a Hartland health care facility, just one day shy of her 89 birthday. She was born in Newport, Feb. 6, 1926, the daughter of Earnest and Edna (Crozier) Cookson. She attended Newport High School. She married Russell W. Bragg May 3, 1947. They were married for 46 years. He predeceased her on Feb. 10, 1993.
Mildred is survived by her son and his wife, James E. and Michele Bragg of Palmyra; her daughter and husband, Bonnie and Lorne Lemon, of Owen Sound, Ont., Canada; her sister, Margret Mitchell of Meriden, Ct.; four granddaughters, Jodi Cook and her husband, Richard, of Corinna, Zoe Carbajales and her husband, Hector, of West New York, New Jersey, Jocelyn Pena and her husband, Roland, of Rocky Hill, New Jersey, and Kristina Keeling and her husband, Michael, of Owen Sound, Ont., Canada; two grandsons, Allen Pease and his wife, Sherri, of Owen Sound, Ont., Canada, and Mike Lemon and his wife, Denielle, of Owen Sound, Ont., Canada; 16 great-grandchildren, Amber and Elizabeth Cook; Jared, Rolando, Noemi and Margret Pena; Morrigan, Jordan, Magnus and Faith Carbajales; Dakota and Jenna-Lyn Pease; Cassidy, Brayden and Joshua Lemon; and Austin Keeling; 2 great-great-grandsons and 1 great-great-granddaughter, to be born very soon. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell W. Bragg; a sister, Marion Brogan; and three brothers, Ira Cookson, Earl Cookson and Sidney Cookson.
Graveside services will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High Street, Newport.
