- On May 4th, 2017, Mike, 72, passed away unexpectedly at home, peacefully in his sleep. He loved to be outside - hunting, fishing, and most of all riding his Harley. If he wasn't enjoying the outside, he was either watching wrestling, an action movie, or being tortured by Cheryl watching a movie on Lifetime. Like all Dorrs, he LOVED his scratch tickets.
Mike was the kind of guy that made friends everywhere he went, even some scary biker dudes from New York City! He was a huge flirt and knew how to use those big baby blue eyes on the ladies. He had a squishy spot for animals and little kids. He loved going to the beach and feeling the sand between his toes. Mike was kind to a fault and a man of his word. He was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and made the best of every single day.
So... do you know what he'd say about having a sad, tear filled funeral? He'd say "whatever" which basically means "screw that!!" Instead, his family would like to invite you to a celebration of his life. He'd want you to come and have a good time in his honor, talk about the good ole days (How many stories are there that start with "Mike and I"?) and be comfortable... wear jeans and your best biker attire or really anything but a suit and tie. He'd love it if you rode your motorcycle there, that is if there's no snow on the ground and it has finally stopped raining. Services will be Saturday, May 27th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, ME 04468.
P.s. There will be NO kale or quinoa served at this event.
