Albany, Ga. - Mrs. Merrilyn Gregors Hall died Tuesday, August 29, 2017. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Hall, Friday, September 1, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service Friday.
Merrilyn Lucile Gregors was born March 3, 1932, in Albany, Georgia, and was the daughter of Lucile and Jack Gregors. She was a graduate of Albany High School in the year of 1951.She later attended Young Harris College University graduating in 1957 with an Associate of Arts in August 17,1957. She returned to Albany, where she worked at C&S bank. She met the love of her life, Clayton L. Hall, from the state of Maine, who was a Marine stationed at the Marine Corps Logistics Base. They married at the First Methodist Church on June 5, 1959.
After having their first child, they decided to move to his home town Machias, Maine, where she decided to pursue a career in teaching. She received her Masters of Education degree on August 17, 1984, and spent the majority of her career working at Jonesboro Elementary School in the Special Education Program. She loved teaching the children, singing in the church choir, reading, and the beauty of nature.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Betty Gregors Broadway; and brother, Thomas Gregors. She is survived by her sister, Carol G. Brown; daughters, Beth M. Beatty, Melanie C. Hall and Kathleen M. Richardson; sons-in-law, Robert A. Beatty and Kristopher Richardson; additionally, three grandchildren, Robert C. Beatty and his wife, Jennifer Beatty, Christopher Beatty and Zachary Beatty; as well as great-grandchild, Robert M. Beatty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
