- Merle L. LeVasseur, 95, passed peacefully away with his wife, Janet by his side.
He was born 8/28/21 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Leon and Florence LeVasseur. He graduated from school, enlisted in the army in 1940, served and fought in World War II. Merle then joined the Air National Guard; he was activated during the Korean War. He worked for the Federal government at Loring Air Force Base until his retirement in 1973.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister Jean Gerndt. Merle is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet Bradbury LeVasseur and his two children Jerry Levasseur and his wife Rose, Judy Shaw and her husband Arthur, his four grandchildren Whitney Levasseur, Lisa Stuart, Brandon LeVasseur, Matthew Zubritsky, and four great-grandchildren.
He will be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
