Meredith's Story

BANGOR - Meredith Ingalls Geary, daughter of the late Arthur Warren Ingalls and Miriam E. Tuckerman died at home on February 24, 2016. Meredith was born March 6, 1922 in Lynn Massachusetts.

She attended schools in the New England area and graduated from Lasell Jr. college in 1941. She married the late John Leo Geary Jr. in January of 1946. After working in the school food service area for over 20 years in Belfast, Maine and Westwood, MA she and Leo retired to Cape Cod in 1982 before subsequently moving to their final residence in Bangor, Maine in 2006. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crafts, reading and being with her family and friends.

She leaves behind 3 children: Peter, Steven and Jennifer (Duffy) as well as 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Shannon, Dan, AJ, Martha, Sean, and 4 great grandchildren, Wesley, Kellan, Adrienne, Alexandra, and one step great grandson, Johnny Lucas. She was preceded by her sister, Miriam (Bunty) Hastings and half brother Gardner Dane. Meredith was also blessed with two wonderful daughter-in-laws, Mary Ann Smith and Christine Todaro. Several nieces and nephews also survived Meredith.

Meredith's family would like to thank all of the kind people at Boyd Place (Bangor) that was their primary residence until 2014. The last year of Meredith's life she was also blessed to have a wonderful friend and care giver, Lynda Garnett.

Anyone that would like to remember Meredith with a donation, may donate to the Alzheimer's foundation or the New England Home for little Wanderers. A private family ceremony will take place in the summer.
