Maynard's Story

CARIBOU - On December 17, 2015, Maynard Keith McIntyre, filled with great love, faith and courage, slipped into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Born on February 18, 1928. Maynard lived for his wife, his two sons, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and countless other loved ones who adored him. He was a man of great strength, integrity, and wisdom. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Searles, on November 10, 1945, and the two of them just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

He and Phyllis were blessed with two sons, James and David. For many years, Maynard was an expert forklift mechanic, owned and operated his own fork lift business, which thrives today as McIntyre and Sons. Maynard was known throughout Aroostook County for his forklift expertise, dependability, and humor. Maynard also served with valor in the United States Air Force during World War II. Maynard was a man of God, active in his church and a pillar of strength to those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Searles McIntyre, his sons and their wives, James and Beth Scovil McIntyre, and David and Phyllis Lawrence McIntyre, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his sister Grace Bologna of Pendleton, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. McIntyre was pre-deceased by his father and mother, Roscoe and Annie Holmes McIntyre, as well as his brothers Elbridge, Evard, Walter, Ellsworth, Roscoe William (Billy), and Herbert. He was also pre-deceased by his sisters, Helen, Dawnie, Dorothy, Doris, Ethel, and Mildred.

Visitation will be held 6pm to 8pm, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St. Caribou where funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2015 with Pastor Don Owen, officiating. A reception will follow the service at Caribou Assembly of God, Activity Hall, 116 Sweden St, Caribou. Interment will be held 11 am, Monday, December 21, 2015 at Maine Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Rd, Caribou. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lancastermorgan.com.
