Maxine's Story

BANGOR - Maxine J. Taggart, 88, died peacefully Dec. 16, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 15, 1926, in Isleboro, daughter of Mona and Emery Howard.

The first of two children, Maxine worked at local shoe factories in the area. She spent many years at Viner Shoe until her retirement in 1988. She spent many years living on Hancock Street, where she raised her only son. She loved her music, many friends, crossword puzzles and scrapbooking. She was a kind and caring person, who would help you any way she could. Her true love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maxine is survived by her brother, Merle; son, Ronald and Mary; grandchildren, Shawn and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jamison and Isabella; niece and nephews. She was close to her cousin, Emery. Her son, Ron, would like to thank the people at the Bangor nursing home and hospice care, who made Maxine's last days as comfortable as possible. God bless you all.

There will be a gathering for family and friends held at noon on Dec. 20 at 319 Hudson Road, Corinth.
