Greenbush - Maxine H. (Thurston) Crosby, 86, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, August 6, 2016. She was born April 11, 1930, in Bradley, the daughter of Ralph and Ethelyn (Smith) Thurston.
Maxine was a hard worker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to dance and watch the birds that she fed daily, and was a great cook. She was famous for her whoopie pies, molasses cookies and biscuits, to name a few. She also loved to play games on her tablet and listen to country music as she played.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Crosby, Nancy and David Carpenter, and Susan and Ralph Brouillette; a sister, Janice and Sal Ciccarello; granddaughters, Pam and Dave Prygrocki, Melissa Sibley and Charlie, Tammie Allen and Dan; great-grandchildren, Daniel Prygrocki and Kaycie Bishop; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her ex-husband, Clarence, Sr.; two sons, Clarence Jr. and Donald; a daughter, Linda Looman; five sisters, one brother, and several close friends.
Friends may visit with her family from 1-2 pm Wednesday, August 10, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, where funeral services will be held at 2 pm, with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery.
