Maurine's Story

Bangor - Maurine S. Michaud, 89, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor, Maine, on November 21, 2016. Maurine was born on April 18, 1927, in Ashland, to Harold Lee and Cassie (Bragdon) Sutherland.
Maurine's love of family and zest for life were apparent in her everyday living. She spent her time helping others, knitting, sewing, reading, and loved to dance. She loved gardening both vegetables and flowers and would pride herself in the ability to grow the perfect potato! Her years of civic duties in her beloved hometown of Ashland, Maine, were topics of many of her conversations. All of her family are forever grateful that Maurine was a part of their lives. As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many, she gave a quiet determination to setting the best example of how to live life with strength, wisdom, patience, humility, faith, and love.
Maurine was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence A. Michaud; and her son, Mark A. Michaud. She is survived by her daughter Mary E. White and her husband ,Shawn; daughter, Kathleen Bonney and her husband, Dugan; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Cassie McCoy, husband, Patrick and daughter, Ella; Jasmine Greenman, husband, Jeremy and sons, Andrew and Reid; Major Michael Michaud, wife, Courtney and son, Mark; Allan Michaud, wife, Sarah and daughter, Cheyenne; Lauren Bonney, Gavin Bonney and daughter, Brooke. Maurine also has many special nieces and nephews who she spoke of often with fondness.
A funeral Mass will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Ashland Cemetery in June 2017.
