Exeter - Maurice Hale Beem, 69, died October 27, 2016, at a Bangor hospital. He was born November 27, 1946, in Newport, a son of Frederick and Paula (Savage) Beem. He was employed as a truck driver at several local farms and worked as a woodsman and wood buyer. He was a former baseball coach and 4-H leader in Exeter for many years. Maurice was a member of the Maine Draft Horse Association.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Candace "Candy" Beem; son Rob, wife Tammy, and their children Heather, Tyler, and Cheyenne; son Scott and his children Cody and Ethan; daughter Pam Sawyer and her children Dylan, Derrick, and Aurora; son Bruce; son Brian, his children Brianna and Mackenzie; and Brian's girlfriend Erica Rugan and her children Mickayla, Nicholas and Joshua; 3 great grandchildren; brother Sidney and wife Stacey; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by his canine companion Teddy.
Maurice was predeceased by his parents; and his in-laws Norman and Barbara Garnett.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 5th 2016, at the Chamberlain Meetinghouse Cemetery, Exeter, with Pastor Scott Millett officiating.
