LINCOLN - On April 1, 2016, after a three year journey with breast cancer, our beautiful, groovy, faithful, loving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, cousin and friend, achieved her greatest goal, to walk side by side with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. Maureen was born on September 3, 1950 in Lincoln, Maine, was a 1968 graduate of Mattanawcook Academy, and a 1969 graduate of Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture in Brewer, Maine. She moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1972 to work at the First National Bank of Boston as an Administrative Assistant. She later moved back to Lincoln, where she worked for Home Interior and Gifts as a consultant. She married Frank McLaughlin in 1977, whom she created three beautiful children with, Joshua Paul, Jacob Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth. In 1989, she worked at Fleet Bank of Howland Maine as a Head Teller where she worked her way up the ladder to a Customer Service Representative and Supervisor in 1992, later to become the District Operations Supervisor of Fleet Bank of Lincoln Maine by 1994. She worked for the Nobel Clinic in Lincoln, as the Office Manager and Billing Clerk up until her retirement, in 2013.
Maureen is predeceased by her father, Paul Moors; her grandparents Fred and Mary Kimball; her siblings, Roger Jr, Twila Dawn and Trina Gay; a special granddaughter, Alison Rose; father-in-laws, James McLaughlin, Roger Dill and Wilbert Gagnon; mother-in-laws, Ruth McLaughlin and Peggy Wotton; nephew, Peter; and a special friend, "Babe" Daigle. Maureen is survived by her best friend and mother, Christine Gagnon, whom she loved beyond words can describe. Her three children, Joshua and wife Loni of Hermon, and their children, Savina Marie, Soleil Christine and Niall Joshua; Jacob of Greenbush; and Sarah of Lincoln, Maine. Her husband of 17 years, Lindy, and his two children, Matthew and wife Tori, and their children Nellie, Amelia and Preston; Bridget and husband Sean, and their children, Brynn, Leah and Cole. She is also survived by 2 special dogs, Ali and Marvin. Maureen is survived by her siblings, Jerry Moors and special friend Dee; Daniel and wife Patty Moors; Kimberly and husband Wayne Solomon; and Holly and husband Donald Russell III. Maureen has many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and uncles who will forever remember her for her everlasting loving nature. Maureen was a devoted Catholic of St Mary of Lourdes Church in Lincoln, Maine, where she has been an active member of Our Lady Circle #774 Daughters of Isabella for years. She enjoyed reading her bible, saying the rosary, sewing, painting, spending time at the family camp, visiting her mother, and spending time with her beautiful grandchildren, Savina, Soleil and Niall. She always wore bright, colorful outfits accompanied by her signature mohawk, which she proclaimed was to put a smile on people's faces. There wasn't a single person who didn't notice her entering a room, she was a ray of beaming beauty everywhere she went. Maureen will always be remembered for her caring heart, her devotion to her family and friends, and her undying love and trust in God.
Friends may visit with her family from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, where a Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday, at St Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
