CHESTER AND WINN - Mary L. Twist, 70, passed away at a local hospital on January 18th due to complications following a surgery. She was born in Bangor July 24, 1945, the daughter of William J. and Marilyn (Miller) Pelkey.
She graduated from Lee Academy. Mary worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Town of Winn for over 25 years. She enjoyed art, traveling, decorating her house, reading, movies, the ocean and birds. She did not enjoy squirrels as anyone who knew her can attest to.
She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Pelkey of Winn; a brother, Edward Pelkey and his wife Rosanne of Winn; a sister, Sue Roarks and her husband Jim of Bangor; a sister-in-law, Beth Pelkey of Lincoln; her daughter, Tammy Kimball of Chester; grandson, Anthony Bartholomew of Connecticut; granddaughters, Britney Gray and Ashley Gray; daughter, Traci Gauthier; granddaughter, Vannesa Knights and her fiancé Bobby Bell of Enfield; grandson, Thomas Knights Jr. and his wife Breanne Knights; and great-grandson Carson Knights all of Lincoln; daughter, Teresa (Peanut) Whitney of Lincoln; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, both young and old.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 32 years, David R. Twist Sr., her father William J. Pelkey Jr., and a brother, Stephen M. Pelkey.
A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring.
