BANGOR AND FAIRFIELD - Mary A. Spencer, passed away March 30, 2015, at her home after a battle with cancer. She was born in Bangor on April 29, 1962.
Mary was a devoted and loving mother, spending the last 13 years taking care of her special needs child. She truly had a great love for family. Mary was full of life; working as a waitress, managing a bar, and driving a cab. She enjoyed bingo and dancing. Mary loved to sing out loud to the radio and didn't care who was listening!
Mary was predeceased by her father, Ralph F. Spencer. She is survived by two sons, Sean Stevens of Levant and Storm Lavway of Fairfield; mother, Marlene Spencer Foster of Fairfield; brother, Ralph Spencer and wife, Penny of Winterport; three sisters, Anna Spencer and Betty Spencer of Fairfield, and Louanne Smith and husband Duane of Carmel; special friends, Nanna, Pop, and Jodi; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, April 4, from noon to 3 PM at the Ramada Inn, 357 Odlin Rd, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Storm Lavway Special Needs Fund, c/o Betty Spencer, 98 Pirate Lane, Fairfield, ME, 04937.
