ST PETERSBURG, FLA. - Mary Edith Quinn Scribner, 86, died in St Petersburg, Florida, on January 22, 2015. Mary was born in Bangor, Maine, January 26, 1928, the daughter of John Thomas and Edith Marie (Bielaski) Quinn.
She was a wife, mother and avid volunteer for her parish, and for professional and civic organizations. Mary was a realtor and a photographer. Airplane pilot was one of her many hobbies. She was an enthusiastic member of AOPA, Women's Ninety Nines, Kiwanis and the Second Time Around Band.
Mary attended Dunbarton College and was a proud graduate of the University of South Florida, class of 1996.
Mary is survived by her brother, William and sister-in-law, Priscilla (Coney) Quinn, of Bangor; her six children and their spouses, Charles (Vivian), Maureen (Sullivan) Scribner-Read, Cynthia (Charles) Devine, Joseph, Tim (Kim) and Sally (Joseph) LoRusso; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert "Bob," John "Jackie" and Joseph Quinn; and her sister, Helen Mooney.
Mary donated over 22 gallons of blood to the Red Cross over her lifetime. Memorial contributions could be made to the Red Cross.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Bangor, Maine, at 11 a.m. on May 2 at St. John's Catholic Church.
