Mary's Story

BANGOR - BANGOR - Mary Ellen Derouin, 83, was born on September 4, 1931, to Frederick and F. Natalie (Scott) Eames. She died Feb. 5, 2015, of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ellen graduated from Bangor High School and then earned her CNA. She worked for over 20 years at Bangor City Nursing and Rehab, running the Central Supply Department.

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Davis and her son Joe Derouin, both of Bangor as well as brothers Fred, Ralph, and Richard Eames. Mary Ellen is survived by her sons Steve Davis and wife Valerie of Pennsylvania; Mitch Davis and fiancé Karen of Florida; Scott Davis and wife Rhonda of Winterport; Mark Derouin of Bangor; a special grand daughter, Natalie Davis, of Bangor; 11 grand children and 15 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind sisters Roberta Ellingwood and Jane Page and brothers Chuck and Billy Eames as well as her best friend, Cathy Fitzgerald of Massachusetts.

Mary Ellen touched the lives of all those she met with her wit and humor, and was very loved. She will be remembered as a strong, caring, independent woman and will be missed every day.

Friends and family are invited to East Orrington Congregational Church on Friday, February 13 at 6pm for a memorial service. A separate burial service will take place in the spring. Those who wish to remember Mary Ellen in a special way may make gifts to East Orrington Congregational Church. Condolences to the family may be sent to 88 Sunny Hollow Place, Bangor.
