Mary's Story

FORT KENT - Mary Ellen "Bee" Daigle, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was the daughter of Emile and Laura (Guimond) Bourgoin.

She grew up in St. Francis, Maine at the old Custom House where she was born August 24, 1932. She attended a one-room school house for her early grades then went on to live as a boarder at the Madawaska Training School. She taught off-and-on for a number of years while also bringing up her family of 6 children. She grew up exploring and feeling at home out in nature. She passed on that love and knowledge base to her children, grandchildren and friends. She was a free spirit who valued independent thinking. She loved company, reminiscing, playing an assortment of card games, the daily crossword puzzle, art, crafts, and reading.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Barney, and Robert, her sister, Lewella "Kiki" Fitzherbert, her grandson, Eli, and the father of her children, Louis A Daigle. She is survived by her long-time companion, Mike Dubois, her two brothers Roger and Jim, her 6 children, Marc, Deborah, Barney, Denise, Lisa, and Matthew, along with their respective spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

In following with her wishes, a private celebration of her life will be at a later date.
