Mary's Story

HOWLAND - Mary C. Chamberlain died Dec 20, 2015 at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She was born July 25, 1944, in Lincoln, the daughter of Bernard and Pauline Glidden. She worked for many years in her brother Bernard's store in Howland and then went on to clean the Howland Town Office, the Howland Post Office and the West Enfield Post Office. She loved flowers and gardening, mowing the lawn and keeping her house in order.

Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved family get togethers. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Gene Chamberlain, and her brothers Bernard and Vaughn Glidden. She is survived by her daughters Lori and Larry Harris, Susan and Michael Foster, and Dawn and Chip Sirois. She loved and was extremely proud of her grandchildren Bradley and Heidi Harris, Kati and Dustin Wakefield, Brian Harris and Stacey Gomm. The light of her life was her great-grandchildren Jackson Harris and Faith Wakefield. She is also survived by her sister Betty Ann Smith and her sisters-in-law Rena and Vince Rush and Rosemary Glidden.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Spring interment will be in Howland Cemetery.
