MILLINOCKET - Mary Teresa (Daley) Ahern, known as Tee to her family, and Terry to friends passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at a local hospital after an illness of several months. She is survived by her husband, Daniel and brothers, Daniel and James Daley. Tee was born in Millinocket, Jan. 14, 1937, the daughter of Daniel L. and Mary C. (Coughlin) Daley.
She graduated as Valedictorian from St. Martin of Tours High School, class of 1954. After additional training in nursing and secretarial studies she moved to Boston and worked several years at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and later at the Boston law firm of Goodwin Proctor where she served 25 years to a senior partner and earned high respect. She married Irish-born Daniel Ahern in 1970 and developed love of Irish culture and Ireland, which they visited many times. After retirement she and Dan moved back to Millinocket where she enjoyed family and old friends.
Friends may visit the family 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, after which a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider, and Deacon Danny Watson, homilist. Spring interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in Tee's memory may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O.
