Marvin's Story

MONTICELLO - Marvin H. Hayes, 66, died May 12, 2015 at his home. He was born July 5, 1948 in Island Falls, the son of George and Leola (Allen) Hayes.

He graduated from Sherman High School in 1967 and NMVTI. Marvin retired after 20 years from the Maine State Police as a detective. He served 2 tours with the International Police Training forces, serving in Bosnia and Kovoso. He was a member and Past Master of Monument Lodge #96 AF & AM and a member of Anah Shriners, Bangor.

Marvin is survived by 2 sisters, Annabelle and Dennis Gallagher of Stacyville, Georgie and Lance Wheaton of Forest City; 2 brother, Roger and Nancy Hayes of Stacyville and Richard Hayes of Columbia Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Sonny, Albert and Pearl; 2 sisters Rosalyn Carr and Ellen Hamilton.

Friends may call 12-2 pm, Monday, May 18th at Bowers Funeral Home in Houlton with funeral services being held 2pm with Reverend Jessie Drysdale officiating. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Shriners Burn Hospital c/o Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr.,Tampa, FL 33607. Interment at Sherman Mills Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
