- Marland Emery Ross, 86, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 30, 2016. He was born on May 3, 1930, to Harland Ross and Rita (Wade) Ross.
He was a lifelong resident of Bradford and attended school there, and worked as a construction worker, woodsman and dairy farmer, and received an award from H.P. Hood and Sons in 1962 for high quality milk production on his farm. Marland enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working with animals in his spare time.
Marland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (Fleming) Ross; daughter, Rhonda O'Bar and her husband, Jeff, of Charleston; daughter, Lisa Nason and husband, Stephen, of Unity; sister, Sandra Lufkin of Kingman, AZ; grandchildren, Heather McCoy of Charleston and Candra, Chelsea and Jaden O'Bar of Charleston; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and James Doore of Charleston. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Keith and Louren Ross.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Bradford Baptist Church.
