EAST MILLINOCKET - Mark James Goodwin, 61, of East Millinocket, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 22nd. Mark, who was born on December 11, 1954 in Norwood Massachusetts, was the son of Kenneth J. Goodwin and Myra (McArdle) Goodwin.
Once Mark was old enough he made his move to Millinocket in hopes of getting a job at the papermill. He achieved that goal and ended up working for both the Millinocket Mill and the East Millinocket Mill for a total of 38 Years, and eventually moving to East Millinocket.
Mark enjoyed a lot of things but he mostly enjoyed watching the Red Sox, hanging out with his son Matthew, and going to The Tri-Town Baptist Church every Sunday where he faithfully practiced his religion. Mark was a great provider for his family among being a honest, helpful, hardworking man.
Mark is survived by his wife, Priscilla (Blanchette) Goodwin; his mother, Myra (McArdle) Goodwin; his son and best friend, Matthew Cote; his sons, Robert Cote, Raymond Cote, and David Cote; stepchildren, Jody Batchelder, Joseph Batchelder, and Sherrie Ortiz; and his siblings, Robin Shepards, Lorie Goodwin, Jolie Goodwin, and Scott Goodwin. Mark had a aunt whom he was close with, Dr. Hazel Kim, and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mark is predeceased by his beloved daughter-in-law, Angela Morrow-Cote and his father, Kenneth J. Goodwin.
There will be a celebration of Marks life following a spring burial, date, time, and location will later be announced.
