Marjory's Story

BANGOR - Marjory S. Strout Perkins, 100, died January 12, 2016 at a Bangor hospital. She was born November 27, 1915 in Bangor, daughter Maynard W. and Bertha (Greene) Strout.

Marjory was employed by the Bangor Hydro Electric Co. from 1953 until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club and was their oldest living member.

Marjory was predeceased by the father of her children, Richard S. Strout, her second husband, James L. Perkins and a sister, Charlene Custer. She is survived by two precious sons, Stanley Strout and his wife, Carol of Florida and Robert Strout and his wife, Roberta of Georgia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Greene and three nieces.

A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor with Rev. Arlene Tully, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 12 noon Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
