Marion's Story

EDDINGTON - Marion "Sam" (Fichtner) Luetjen, 80, passed away March 2, 2016, in Port Charlotte, FL.  She was born in Hartford, CT., May 18, 1935, daughter of the late Paul and Mary (O'Brien) Fichtner.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, James F. Luetjen Jr.; a grandson, James Joseph Deschaine; and a brother-in-law, Nicholas Casparino Jr. Surviving are, three children, Anne Deschaine of Clifton, Cathy Hughes and her husband, David, of Clifton and Allan Luetjen of Hampden; seven granddaughters, Carole Luetjen and Bethany Deschaine, Amy, Amanda and Jolene Hughes, and Brittany and Brianna Luetjen; brother, Allan Fichtner and his wife, Pat, of East Grand Lake and Ft. Myers, FL.; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Casparino of Port Charlotte, FL.; brother-in-law, David Luetjen and his wife, Doris, of Hebron, CT; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a service will be held at 6 p.m. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, immediately following. Spring interment will be in Meadow Brook Cemetery, Eddington. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Eddington Fire Department, 906 Main Rd., Eddington, ME 04428.
