MONROE AND PROSPECT - Marion E. Hood, 76, died peacefully at her home, May 12, 2014. She was born Jan. 11, 1938 the daughter of Elden and Arlene (Lyford) Brown.
Marion loved Jesus and was saved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and overall loved her family including her animals. She loved to work in her flower gardens and when she wasn't doing that she enjoyed eating out, shopping and playing Bingo. Marion was a hard worker and enjoyed picking seafood.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, one daughter, Lorraine Tripp and husband, Peter, one granddaughter, Kelly Dakin and husband, David, one special great-granddaughter, Kateland Dakin; two stepsons, Matthew Hood and Michael Hood, one brother, Alden Brown and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, son, Mark Brown and brothers and sisters, Marilyn Bridges, Norma Brown, Gerald Brown, Raymond Brown, Roger Brown, Paul Brown, Bucky Brown and Danny Brown.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Friday May 16, 2014 at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Monroe. mitchelltweedie-young.com
