- Marilyn (Maker) White, 81, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away March 21, 2017, at Sunrise Care Facility in Jonesport. Marilyn was born on September 5, 1935, in Machias, the daughter of the late Llewellyn and Marion (Dinsmore) Maker. She married Richard White on June 24, 1953. She worked several years at the Bluebird Motel and later at the Whitehouse Restaurant.
Marilyn is survived by three children: Patricia Driscoll of Columbia Falls, Terry White and his wife Sharon, and Allison Tibbetts and her husband Ted all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Kendra Nelson and husband Rob of Columbia, Kara Logan and husband Chip of Hancock, DeAnne Taylor and husband Alan of Cutler, Ericka Smith and husband Erik, and Brittany West and husband Adam of Jonesboro. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren - Dylan and Kylee Nelson of Columbia, Kate, Mike, Jake, and Aaron Taylor of Cutler, and Keith and Vanna Smith of Jonesboro. Her extended family that she loved as her own included three step grandchildren - Penny Maker and husband Kevin of Marshfield, Royce Richards of Bangor, and Darren Richards and companion Lori of Madison; as well as two step great grandchildren Romayn Richards of East Machias, and Otis Richards of Madison. She is also survived by a special brother and sister-in-law, Newell and Mary White of East Machias. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Richard in 2013, and her son Vance in 2006.
