HERMON AND DOVER-FOXCROFT - Marilyn Bernice (Lovell) Smith, 87, went home to the loving arms of her Lord, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at a Dover-Foxcroft healthcare facility. She was born October 13, 1928, in Milo, to Albion and Faye (Davis) Lovell.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She could always be found in the kitchen baking. She will be remembered for her molasses cookies. Her family meant everything to her. Marilyn was a member of Hermon Baptist Church where she was the choir director for many years. She enjoyed her music. She and her husband, Bev, enjoyed their retirement in Florida each winter.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by the love of her life, Beverly Smith; and brothers, Dana and Gordon Lovell. She is survived by daughter, Kathy and Charlie Overlock of Hermon; three sons, Larry and Nancy Smith of Milo, David and Diana Smith of Ocala, FL., and Matt Smith and girlfriend, Arline Emerson of Hermon; special granddaughter, Lisa Yoder; grandchildren, Angie and Tom Barnett, Kara and Dave Wittmer, Jeryme and Joanna Smith, Kelley and Greg Dean, Laura and Wally Gogan, Kevin Smith and girlfriend, Ashlee Chase, Scott and Heather Smith, Eric Lewis, Ashley Lewis, Lynn and Jamie Fitzpatrick, and Muriel Emerson; special caregiver to the end and great-granddaughter, Sarah and Dustin Charrier; great-grandchildren, Josh Yoder, Thomas Barnett and girlfriend, Abbe Soohey, Dylan Barnett, Colby and Torria Wittmer, Taylor Smith, Aleah and Ava Dean, Wyatt and Hailey Gogan, Taylor, Austin, Alyssa and Tyeler Smith, Maddie McDougall, Kaleigh Fitzpatrick, Claira Sanders and Autumn Chase; special niece, Joanne Graves; and special nephew, Gordon Lovell; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Hilltop Manor for the excellent care and love shown to "Mama" for her time there.
Friends may call 9-10 a.m., Saturday, November 14, at Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 Route 2, Hermon, where a celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m., with Pastor Garnett Chute, family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments in the church dining hall after the service.
