Marie's Story

BREWER - Marie McDonough, 92, died Oct. 8, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1921 in Houlton, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Lawler) Campbell.

Marie graduated from Shead High School in Eastport and attended Becker College in Worcester, MA. She retired from the Bangor Public Library where she worked as a librarian for many years. Marie worked alongside her family at Campbell's Bakery, the family owned business. She was a long time communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Alison (McDonough) Martin in 1979 and by her brother-in-law, John McDonough. Surviving are two granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne Martin of Eddington and Christine Willette and her husband, Tracy of Brewer; four great grandchildren, Joshua Martin of Eddington and Tyler, Drew, Alison Marie Willette all of Brewer; three brothers, Patrick Campbell, and his wife, Roselle of Brewer, Norman Campbell and his wife, Sondra of Brewer, and Charles Campbell and his wife, Eleanor of Brewer, son-in-law Bill Martin of Navajo, NM; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 531 North Main St., Brewer with burial and committal following at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
