Marie Anna's Story
- Marie Anna 'Annie' Quist, 97, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Clover Health Care in Auburn, Maine. Anna was born in Caribou on December 29, 1919, the daughter of Frank and Sophie (Michaud) Michaud. She had been a life-long resident of Stockholm, Maine, and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Always a homemaker at heart, she cooked and cleaned with great care for those she loved. Her fluffy dinner rolls, "War Cake" and many delicious desserts will long be remembered.
At the time of her death she was survived by three sons: Howard Quist of Sanford, Maine; Wilmer Quist of Stockholm, Maine; David Quist and daughter-in-law Genie Gannett of Silver Springs, Florida, and Readfield, Maine; and one daughter Linda Kautz and son-in-law Maurice Kautz of Harrison, Maine. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Also surviving Anna are her sister Leona Petroski of Enfield, Connecticut, and brother Arthur Michaud of Caribou. She was predeceased by her husband Sigward Quist, sisters Alice Lagasse and Iva Sparks and by brothers Edward, George, Guy, William and Leonard and by great-grandson Josh Quist.
