Text size

Holmesville, NB - Marian Fay Giberson of Holmesville passed away on January 12, 2017, at the River View Manor, Bath, NB. She was born on September 3, 1918, in Bangor, Maine, to the late Alfred and Margaret (McKay) Scripture. Marian was also predeceased by her husband, Borden Giberson; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Alfred and James; 2 sisters, Alice and Janet.
Marian grew up in Bangor, ME, and graduated from Bangor High School in 1936. She was the oldest of seven children and it was in her family home where hard work and family values were instilled in her at a very young age. In the fall of 1952, Marian married R. Borden Giberson, a potato farmer from Holmesville, NB. They worked together on their family farm and made it a safe and loving home for their daughters. Marian was known for her delicious lunches that were delivered to the crews working on the farm in the spring and fall. They arrived mid-morning and mid-afternoon like clockwork.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda and Janet; grandchildren, Claire and Spencer Hargrove; 1 brother, Donald Scripture; 2 sisters in law, Joan Scripture and Bernice Giberson as well as many nieces, nephews.
Respecting Marian's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment for her family and friends will take place in the spring. For those who wish memorials to River View Manor would be appreciated by the family.
Marian's family wishes to thank all the staff at River View Manor for their care and compassion towards Marian during her stay. A special thank you to her friends, Penny Broad and Sonya Clark for all their time and attention they gave our mother.
