HAMPDEN - Margaret "Peggy" Ann Simpson, 82, passed away February 3, 2015, at her residence in Florida. She was born November 6, 1932, in Bangor the daughter of John E. and Yvonne (Albert) Moran.
Peggy graduated from John Bapst High School in the Class of 1950. She worked as a telephone operator most of her life starting with New England Telephone and retiring with Verizon after 25 years. Peggy was a lifelong member of St. Paul the apostle Parish, and a member of the telephone Pioneers of America. She loved to travel and enjoyed her winters in Florida. More than anything she loved being a mother and caring for her family.
She is survived by a sister, Helen Moran of Bangor; a son, David Simpson Jr. and wife Shannon of Hampden; a daughter, Pamela Drake of San Diego, CA; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Alexander, and Madison. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband David Simpson in 1998.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Monday, Feb. 9, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor, followed by a Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Following the Committal Prayers relatives and friends are invited to St. John's Catholic Church parish hall for a time of fellowship and reception.
