HARTLAND - Madeline H. Hollister, 98, died on May 22 with her daughter at her side at a local health care facility after a long period of residence there. She was born in St. Albans in 1916, the daughter of Archie and Phillis ( Goundry) Parker and was the eldest of thirteen brothers and sisters.
She attended St. Albans schools and was a skilled seamstress and shoe stitcher most of her life. She married Frank Hollister Jr. in 1953. Frank died in 1991. She as a devoted Christian and received full membership in the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in l984. She worked at Irving Tannery, Northeast Shoe, Dexter Shoe, and Sanfield Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenice and son-in-law, Brian Hanson of St. Albans; grandsons, Daniel Hanson of Corinna and James Hanson of Hartland; great grandchildren, Karmin Hinman and Kateena Hook of Houston, Texas, Kyle Hanson of Westbrook, Jamie Hanson of Richmond, Thomas Fick of Brewer, Karin Hunter of Florida; sisters, Pauline Coolen of Newport, Iona Knight of Palmyra; and brother, Henry Parker of Hartland.
Graveside services will be announced for a later date.
