Lynn's Story

MILFORD - Lynn Hartranft Legere died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on April 9, 2015, after a brief illness. She was born Lynn Marie Hartranft, daughter of Thomas and Marie Hartranft, in Bangor on Sept. 18, 1968.

Lynn graduated from Old Town High School in 1986. She worked for more than 25 years as a legal assistant for the Rudman Winchell Law Firm in Bangor. Lynn was an avid outdoor girl, who was most at home feeding her birds and squirrels or growing her flowers and vegetables. She was constantly searching her surroundings for any type of bird or wildlife activity, which she would locate, identify and watch, with great interest, for hours. She would often text her father complaining about the "damn" Coopers Hawks that came around looking to prey on her adopted wildlife friends, after she panicked and chased them away. She and her husband, "Joe," lovingly rescued and provided a wonderful home for many dogs from several animal shelters. She always referred to them as their "borrowed friends." Lynn married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, London Joseph "Joe" Legere, on New Years Eve 1999. They dearly loved each other.

Lynn is survived by her husband, "Joe"; her parents, Thomas and Marie Hartranft of Greenville, SC; her grandmother, Jeanne B. Hartranft of Bangor, ME; her very close sister, Lori Rozmus and husband, Stephen, of Cos Cob, CT, and three nephews; her aunt, Jeannie Hartranft Migliardi and family of Cos Cob, CT; and her aunt, Holly Hartranft Deshane and family of Brewer, ME; her uncle, Robert Arsenault and family of Murrell's Inlet, SC; her uncle, Richard Arsenault and family of Hanover, ME; and her aunt, Patricia Bitter of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Lynn enjoyed a wonderful relationship with her boss of many years at Rudman Winchell, Phillip Buckley and her very close friend of over 30 years, Lisa Prescott of Bangor, ME.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Old Town Animal Orphanage. A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
