Lucinda's Story

Bucksport - Lucinda (Cindy) Wyman Wentworth, 60, died at her home in Bucksport, Maine on September 17, 2016, after living with cancer, off and on, for more than 25 years.
Cindy was the youngest child of the late Paul and Erna Wentworth, of Bucksport and Orland. She was also predeceased by her sister, Martha; and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her sister, Sarah, of Cambridge, MA, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a circle of loving friends.
She attended Bucksport High School, and worked for many years as a child care provider at HOME Co-op in Orland.
She was a long time active member of the Orland Historical Society. One of her favorite activities was organizing yard sales for the benefit of charitable organizations, including the Orland Historical Society.
Cindy quietly overcame many challenges in her life, including four occurrences of breast cancer, and living with mental illness. She is a cherished member of the Bucksport Square Senior Center community.
Cindy's family is grateful for the loving and devoted care provided to her during her final days through Hancock County Home Care & Hospice, Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County, and Private Home Care, Inc.
A service will be held at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm Street, Bucksport, on Friday, September 23, at 4 pm. Memorial contributions to the Orland Historical Society are encouraged P.O. Box 242 Orland, ME 04472. (mitchelltweedie-young.com)
