Eastport and Zephyrhills, FL
- Louise Ellen (Adams) Leighton, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her four sons, brother, and sister, July 1, 2017, in Robbinston, after fighting a short battle with cancer. She was born on November 20, 1942, in Boston, MA, the daughter of Charles H. and Louise B. Adams.
Louise grew up in Eastport and graduated from Shead Memorial High School.
For many years, Louise spent her winters in Florida, golfing, reading and having fun with her husband, Kenny, and their many close friends. During the summer months, she spent time: continuing her friendships; volunteering at local organizations; spending time with her family and going to (and having) yard sales. She will be remembered by her generous and "in charge" spirit. Louise was a talented seamstress, knitter and crocheter. For years, she lovingly donated her creative work to the "Quoddy Crafts" and "New to You" outreaches of the Eastport Episcopal Church.
She was predeceased by: her parents; her brother, Charles Adams; and her first husband, Harry E. Boone, the father of her four sons; and second husband, Kennith J. Leighton.
Louise is survived by her four sons and their spouses: David and MaryEllen Boone of Perry; William and Diana Boone of Eastport; Kent and Teresa Boone of Owings, Maryland; and Daniel and Juliann Boone of Eastport; her 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her brothers and their spouses: Richard and Dora Adams of Dennysville; Danny and Rose Adams of San Antonio, TX; and her sister, Mary Henrique of Bangor.
Louise will be greatly and sadly missed by her family and her many kind and loving friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
