PATTEN - Louise Dunn Fogg, 82, passed on April 4, 2015, at Mountain Heights Healthcare Facility, where she resided for three months. She was born May 14, 1932, in Patten. Louise was the daughter of George and Madeline (Albert) Dunn. She attended the Patten schools.
In her earlier years, Louise worked as a cashier at the local IGA. Louise and her husband, Micky, started their own take-out business, Fogg's Drive In, and worked together for thirty years. Among her popular menu items, her hand crafted "onion rings" were a customer favorite. The Drive-In's reputation for fresh seafood, generous portions, and delicious soft serve ice cream made the main street business a popular destination for tourists and regulars from miles around. Louise's leisure time activities included: picnicking at South Branch Pond, deer watching in the spring, baking, reading, observing fall foliage, crocheting, and frequent visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Barbara and husband, Brad Edwards, of Auburn, Sharon and husband, Mark Porter, of Crystal. She was blessed with three precious grandchildren: Ethan Edwards, Nichole Porter Richardson, and Nate Porter; two loving great-grandchildren, Shiloh Anne, and Shema Mae Richardson, who were the sunshine in her life. She is also survived by two sisters, Colleen Martin of Patten and Loraine Glenn of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews that always made her smile. She was blessed with many visits by her "special" first cousin, Fred Pond.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milton (Micky), her parents; and sister, Ruth Palmer.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Mountain Heights Healthcare Staff for the extra special care that was given to Louise during her stay.
A celebration of her life will be announced later. Notification will be published in the Bangor Daily News. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Louise Fogg, to the activity fund at Mountain Heights Healthcare facility, 83 Houlton Rd, P.O. Box 240, Patten, ME 04765 or The Patten Library (Children's Section), Main St., Patten, ME 04765.
