Louis's Story

ALLAGASH - My father Louis Pelletier Sr. left this earth May 20, 2015 joining my mother Ethel Pelletier in their heavenly home.

Our family will miss our father and grandfather - he is now free of life's struggles. He knew the blessing of holding his six children in his arms and the grandchildren to follow. My father and I shared a special oldest daughter relationship and more importantly a shared faith in God and the promise of hereafter.

Daddy was a businessman I admired and who with my mother built a business from the day he bought his first property in Cross Rock. I got to enjoy the many trips I took them on to visit any place they desired more memorable was a two week trip across the US visiting with his sister Arlene on the way and Daddy making his decision to start his buffalo ranch after visiting Yellowstone and Cody National parks. Then Hawaii where we found his Navy brother Melford's name at the War Memorial for those buried at Sea in the Pacific and the long awaited closure in the chapel. There are so many memories - the ten Thanksgivings with our family at our home in Louisville, KY and cottage on Rough River Lake, our first Christmas in California, discovering California and fun trips to Mexico and the last trip with Mom and Dad the June before my Mom died flying them to California to see the Redwoods. Dad admired me for my work ethic and my independence, he was proud of his Airline Captain son-in-law, and having the opportunity from a baby to have his grandson, Joe, spend time with him - I will miss you Daddy and am reassured that we will meet someday in Heaven where once again I will hear you say the words you said to me so often, "Linda your voice sounds so good." "Linda you look so good!" "Linda you work hard" and from our many trips, "Linda you are a good driver." Daddy you loved the song, "I have a Mansion Over the Hilltop" John 14: 1-3. You are with me in memory that no one can take away and then - someday in heaven.

Dr. Linda Pelletier Drake, Captain Steve Drake, and your loving grandson Joe. (for 200 photos of Dad & Mom e-mail ldainc@earthlink.net.)
