HARMONY - Loretta "Retta" (Gourley) Patterson, 76, passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 8, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born March 20, 1939 in Kingsbury to Arlie and Effie (Chadbourne) Gourley. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1957, and in that same year married Bob Patterson. Loretta and Bob started their family in 1959. Loretta had different jobs throughout her life, but the one she found most rewarding was raising her four children. She was devoted to her family, and took pride in the moments spent with grandchildren. She loved watching them with all their activities, but those who knew her, knew that basketball was her favorite. She thought it was quite entertaining schooling us all at her favorite sport. Loretta also enjoyed music, playing her guitar, and writing poetry.
Loretta was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Robert; a brother, Gregory; a sister, Patricia; and a son, Robbie.
She is survived by her children, son, Jesse Patterson and wife Jodie of Harmony; 2 daughters, Molly Deane and husband, Chip of Scarborough, and Teresa Pratt and husband Chris of Harmony; 8 granddaughters, Amanda Patterson of Wellington, Morgan Patterson of Lincoln, Nyari Patterson of Bangor, Kristin Rogers of South Berwick, Mariah Page of Biddeford, Mackenzie Peatfield of Harmony, Cidney Pratt of Harmony, and Reaghan Patterson of Harmony; 3 grandsons, Scott Robert Page and wife Ali of Harmony, Robbie Pratt of South Carolina, and Jacoby Pratt of Harmony; 4 great grandchildren, Kyla Knights, Delyla Knights, Gage Page, and Tanner Page; a brother, William Gourley and wife Barbara of Canaan; a sister, Brenda Monahan and husband Jim of New Hampshire; a special friend, Trung Banh; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held 6 to 8 PM, Friday, December 18, at Crosby and Neal, 61 Main Street in Dexter.
A graveside service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the Chadbourne Cemetery in Harmony, with Pastor Henry Thibodaux officiating.
