- Lois Kneeland of Charleston, Maine, died peacefully on December 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 30, 1940, to Otis and Ada Rockwell, in their home located in Corinth, Maine, one of ten children.
She was predeceased by a son, Dennis, her father, mother and brothers; Kenneth, Lawrence, and Walter Rockwell.
She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband of 58 years, Philip Kneeland, daughter, Phyllis Kneeland Clement and husband Jimmy, daughter, Debbie Kneeland Fowler and husband Barry, son Tony Kneeland and companion Jeff Bridge, siblings Dorothy Rockwell Smith, Norman Rockwell and wife Glenda, Helen Rockwell Kneeland, Robert Rockwell and wife Carolyn, Elaine Rockwell O'Bar and husband Carlson, Floyd Rockwell and companion Vicky Rockwell, grandchildren Chris Clement, wife Kalli, and his children Seth, Logan, Natalie, and Brooklyn, Nikki Dubay More, husband Andrew and their children Kaydence and Rylee, Fred Clement and daughter Alexis, Cory Fowler, fiancée Jenn and their children Carson and Kaelynn.
Lois and Philip's lives together presented the epitome of a loving relationship. Lois dedicated her life to lovingly caring for and raising her children and grandchildren. Her generous heart and loving nature extended beyond her own family to encompass many others. Taking in her mom allowed for countless shared hours of crocheting, which resulted in beautiful creations that many people have come to treasure. She passed her love of reading on to her children along with playing cards, dice, and any other games that brought her family together.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00, Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston, with the Rev. Matt Ward officiating. Due to her heartfelt love of animals, most recent being her beloved Buster, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society in Lois' memory.
