Lois C. Beaulieu
Jan 5, 1945 - Mar 5, 2017
- Lois Collier Small Beaulieu went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2017, with her loving family surrounding her. She was born January 5, 1945, in Island Falls, the daughter of Mahlon and Alice (Brownlow) Collier.
Lois was a gentle woman with a deep faith in her Lord. She worked in the nursing field as a CNA for 25 years and showed great compassion to all those she cared for. Even years after she retired, she would often meet family members of those she cared for and be thanked for her kindness and compassion. Lois' greatest joy in her life was her family. She was a wonderful mother to her three children and raised them alongside her husband Michael with great love. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved her dearly. She was an amazing cook who made dishes without any recipe and her home always smelled of homemade bread, pie or other treats. If she knew company was coming, she would begin cooking at least 3 days in advance! Several years after the passing of Michael, Lois was blessed to find a new love when she met Regis and they enjoyed 8 happy years of marriage. Together they traveled to many places around the country but also enjoyed simply sitting on the porch on a warm summer night or eating out on Sunday afternoon after church.
Lois is survived by her loving husband, Regis of Houlton; her 2 sons, Roderick of Smyrna and Pat and wife, Debbie, of Houlton; her daughter, Holly and husband, David, of Whitefield; stepchildren, Harriet and husband, Donald, of Nevada, John and wife, Chong, of Indiana, Marion and husband, Edward, Kim and husband, Benjamin, Tina and husband, Michael, and Terry and fiancee, Lorena, all of California; brothers, Art and wife, Judy, of Hampden, Ralph and wife, Judi, of Bangor and Keith and wife, Kathy, of Smyrna; and sisters, Avis Brannen and Marilyn and husband, Don, all of Oakfield. She will also be missed by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her parents; her late husband, Michael; and her brother-in-law, John Brannen.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the United Baptist Church of Littleton, 1395 US Highway 1, Littleton, with Pastor Steve Straubel officiating. Luncheon to follow at the church after services. Spring interment will be at the Lower Smyrna Cemetery.
